required for Full Queries - sensitive accounts are automically filtered out if the user is not authorized to view sensitive accounts.
CheckView: Check Image Retrieval System (up to 3.0.0j)
-
Every option requires login
- Login is now required for all options, including image
queries.
-
All login sessions expire after one hour.
-
After an hour, users will be logged off and will have
to relogin to continue working.
-
Authorization required to query images.
-
The 'Query Image Database' authorization is required
to query images. As with all authorizations, this
authorization is added by choosing CheckView
Administration -> Add/Edit Users Database from the menu.
-
Single images may be printed from an individual
image lookup.
-
When viewing an individual image, the 'Print Front and
Back Image' link will print the front and back image
to the default printer with the bank logo at the top
of the page. If applicable, the image's return status
will be printed at the bottom of the page.
- The images will be printed to the printer
configured at installation time as the 'teller printer'
-
Single images can be converted to PDF format for
printing to any convenient printer.
-
Rotated views of the back image of a check can be
zoomed and magnified as much as 50%
-
Once the back image is rotated by clicking the
'Rotate Back Image' link, options for Zoom and
Zoom +10 20 30 40 and 50 percent are provided.
-
Sensitive ('Executive') accounts can be hidden from
Quick Query by Account
-
Executive accounts may be entered into a database under
CheckView Administration -> Add Account to 'Exec'
Database. Accounts entered in this data base will not
be queryable using the 'Quick Query by Account Option',
by users who do not also have the 'Query View
Executive Accounts' option. Users will be required to
have the 'Query View Executive Accounts' option,
in addition to the usual authorizations to be able to
use any of the other check image query features,
including Restricted Access Processing and Edit Fed.
Check Image Database. The Executive account limitation
was placed on the Quick Query By Account feature only,
due to the complexity of filtering accounts out of a
query by date, for example, and the necessity of
making all accounts avalible to users that are
authorized to edit the check database.
The message:
User [username] requires
further authorization for this option.
will appear if a user tries to access one of
their valid authorizations and they do not have
the Executive account option.
-
Menubar provides cleaner navigation
-
A menubar at the top of the CheckView Browser provides
fast access to the CheckView features.
-
Statements can be generated and printed from the browser
-
By using the 'Statement Utilities' menu, authorized
users ('Create and Print Statements' authorization)
can generate and print statements from the CheckView Browser.
-
Completed statements can be viewed and deleted from the
CheckView Browser.
-
When done printing, a View button allows viewing of
the statement in the browser. The third party
Ghostview package is required. Statement printfiles
may also be deleted by clicking the Delete button.
-
A month of files can be moved from archive to history
from the browser
-
Under CheckView Administration, the option 'Move Files
from Archive to History' is available. The 'System
Administration' authorization is required.
-
When adding a user to the user database, the user may
be selected from a pulldown list of valid users.
-
Instead of typing the user name in a form box, a
pulldown list of valid system users is available.
-
Check images may be viewed and printed from the
edit fed screen
-
When editing the fed image database, users can
click 'View Front Image' or 'View Back Image' to
see the image they are working with.
-
Query by status
-
It is now possible to look up a check by its return
status.
-
New return statuses can be added at will
-
New return statuses can be added using the admin script
'addreturn'
-
Check status can be changed while editing the fed
image database
-
If a user also has the 'Process Returned Checks'
authorization, they can change a check's status
by editing it's field in the database. A list
of statuses is given at the bottom of the page.
-
Accounts Requiring Multiple Signatures can Now be queried
-
If a user has the 'Verify Multiple Signatures'
authorization, they can (1) review items
requiring multiple signatures for a given day
and change their return status, and (2) add
accounts requiring multiple signatures to the
comparison database. To do (1), choose

-
Passwords can be changed from the browser.
- If the user password has an expiration date set
on the Unix side, the CheckView browser will warn the
user when the password is within 2 days of expiration.
- When the password expires, the user will be
forced to change it.
- The user may change their password from the 'Logoff'
menu.
